Hires and departures
Valerie Davis has been promoted to CEO of media agency Assembly in North America, where she was formerly president. Davis joined Assembly North America in January 2020 as managing director.
M&C Saatchi PLC promoted interim CFO Bruce Marson into the permanent role. Previously, Marson has worked in financial roles for Dentsu, Technicolor, and the BBC.
Lee Newman will depart his CEO post at MullenLowe US, according to Ad Age, which noted that the agency said the role will not be filled “for the time being.” His departure comes months after The Martin Agency CEO Kristen Cavallo also became CEO of MullenLowe.
Account wins, losses, and reviews
The US Golf Association (USGA) has handed its account to MullenLowe and Carmichael Lynch, two IPG agencies. They will work with the organization to help it “deliver increased brand growth and awareness.”
Etsy confirmed to Ad Age that it’s reviewing its creative agency account, which is currently held by 72andSunny. People familiar with the review told the publication that a decision is “said to be imminent.”
The Goddard School, an early childhood education provider, chose Colle McVoy to help it create a national campaign aimed toward families. The agency’s work for the school is expected to debut later this year.
New divisions, offices, acquisitions, etc.
TBWA\Worldwide acquired sports marketing agency Dark Horses. The agency has worked with brands including Peloton, TikTok, and Nissan.
Former Mekanism employees Jourdan Huys and Rachel Carlson have founded a new agency in Seattle. Called Foul Mouth, it will offer brand strategy, digital content, campaign concept development, and more, per AgencySpy.
Fors Marsh, a research firm, acquired social impact marketing agency Brunet-García. The agency previously worked on a campaign for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on fentanyl awareness, and with the Department of Health and Human Services on a campaign centered around the HIV prevention drug PrEP.
